About this worksheet

Pre-writing practice for LKG: trace sleeping lines left to right. This free printable LKG English worksheet is made for children aged 4–5 years and follows the way English is taught in Indian schools, so it fits alongside CBSE, ICSE and state board classes. ✏️ What your child will do

Your child traces dotted sleeping lines from the start dot to the end – left to right. The picture at the top (a train, pencils or rain) shows the direction in a fun way.

🎯 What your child will learn

  • Drawing sleeping lines in the correct direction (left to right)
  • Pencil grip and control
  • Building the strokes used in capital letters like E, H, T and L

👣 How to do it

  1. Look at the picture at the top and talk about the direction of the line.
  2. Place the pencil on the start dot.
  3. Trace the dotted line left to right without lifting the pencil.
  4. Finish every line on the page.

💡 Tips for parents

  • Show where each line starts before your child begins.
  • If lines wobble, let your child trace with a finger first.
  • Keep it to 10–15 minutes – stop while your child is still enjoying it.
